Create a sharing strategy

Using social media to promote your fundraiser can yield fantastic results if done consistently and creatively. Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are some of the main social media platforms you can use to share your fundraiser far and wide.

You can also try getting creative with how you share your fundraiser on different social media platforms through the following ways:

* Asking team members / influencers who have a strong social media following to promote the fundraiser. If correctly done, this can turn social media followers into donors.

* Creating a hashtag for your fundraiser so that people can follow along.

Other ways to share

If you are not active on social media, there are a number of other ways you can promote your fundraiser. Here are five ways to share without social media:

* Emails

* Text messages

* Word of mouth

* Fundraiser flyers that you post around your community

* Reach out to local media to cover your fundraiser

Build your fundraising team

Neighbors, co-workers, friends, and family members can all join your crowdfunding efforts in a support role and help rally others around your cause. Before building your fundraising team, you’ll want to make sure everyone you have in mind will be comfortable being listed as a team member. Once added, you can have the names and photos of your team members listed on the fundraiser page.

You can involve your team members by unofficially assigning them to different roles such as social media monitoring or writing. This helps in distributing the work load as it also makes the fundraising process engaging and fun.
