“I have been treated by three doctors since this whole thing started. These are Dr. Rishad, Dr. Getambu and Dr. Mc’legeyo. Currently, I am with Dr. Rishad. After various tests, it was discovered that my kidney has reduced in size and both of them are not functioning as they ought to. For this reason, I needed dialysis to be able to flash out toxins from my body. After dialysis the series of vomiting, nausea, dizziness and lack of appetite have reduced.”- Sidi Masha.
Sidi Masha, a 24 year old, needs a life saving kidney transplant. The kidney complications began in 2011 and has affected her studies at the Daystar University- Athi River campus as she is constantly in and out of hospital between Nairobi and Mombasa.
Sidi later on experienced a series of nausea, vomiting and lack of appetite which led to the diagnosis of Kidney Nephritic Syndrome – a condition that causes the body to excrete too much protein in the urine. She hence began her kidney dialysis in 2017 but needed an urgent kidney transplant to enable her live a normal life. Her doctor, Dr.Rashid, said the dialysis was a good option as Sidi is still young.
